¡Policías escolares o modelos escolares!

San Fco de Macorís, RD.- Hace mucho tiempo que vengo observando el trabajo de los miembros de la Policia Escolar en los centros educativos de todo el país, y mas que trabajo por parte de ellos lo que veo es fotografiarse en las escuelas y en las actividades que allí se realizan.
Los agentes escolares deben acompañar a la comunidad educativa integrada por estudiantes, maestros, directores, personal administrativo y padres, en todas las actividades a fin de garantizar la debida protección.
En las redes sociales se ve a gran parte de ellos modelar al lado de la bandera, escudo, profesores, estudiantes, planteles, paredes u otros escenarios, menos patrullando en el interior de los centros educativos para observar de cómo va la disciplina de cada uno de los estudiantes que están bajo sus orientaciones junto a los maestros y directores.
Recuerdo que entre las múltiples funciones de la Policía Escolar, también está la de evitar que los estudiantes y demás miembros de la comunidad educativa, sean víctimas de accidentes de tránsito, riñas entre ellos, que aboguen por la tranquilidad del centro y un mejor comportamiento entre ellos mismos.
Historia
La Policía Escolar fue creada como departamento, mediante la orden general número 46, del 15 de septiembre del año 1999 con la misión específica en ese entonces de regular el tránsito vehicular en las escuelas públicas y colegios privados en todo el territorio nacional. Posteriormente, el día 11 de marzo del 2003, mediante decreto presidencial 223-03, es elevada a la categoría de Dirección.
Función
Dentro de las funciones la de Policía Escolar, es una Dirección Especializada de la Policía Nacional, de naturaleza preventiva, asesora, reactiva y de apoyo con la finalidad fundamental es atender las necesidades de seguridad de los integrantes de la comunidad educativa en el país.
Entre las funciones de la Policía Escolar figura también prevenir acciones que pudieran afectar los bienes y propiedades del sistema educativo.
De manera que con mi comentario, no quiero molestar ni atacar a estos agentes que están asignados en cada centro, sino que se preocupen más para desarrollar su papel para los que fueron creados sin maltratar a los estudiantes y actores del sistema educativo dominicano.
