Canciller Miguel Vargas reitera importancia diplomacia gastronómica

Santo Domingo. – El ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Miguel Vargas, presidió una nueva entrega del espacio mensual de conferencias “Hablemos de Gastronomía”, esta vez a cargo del laureado chef español Martín Berasategui.
La actividad es uno de los proyectos de Unidad de Diplomacia Gastronómica, creada en diciembre de 2018, iniciativa que resalta, a todos los niveles, la identidad tradiciones y sabores dominicanos, a través de la cocina nacional.
Detalló que, con la diplomacia gastronómica, en el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores (Mirex) “fomentamos el conocimiento y el respeto a la riqueza gastronómica y cultural dominicana en el exterior, aumentando, de esa manera, la presencia de productos dominicanos en el mundo”, detalló el canciller.

El alto funcionario invitó a Berasategui a que incorpore en su menú algunos platos dominicanos.
Igualmente, el ministro de Exteriores agradeció al grupo empresarial INICIA y al hotel Paradisus Palma Real, y su restaurante Passion, por el apoyo brindado al proyecto.
En tanto, Martín Berasategui anunció que otorgará dos becas para que estudiantes de cocina dominicanos se preparen durante ocho meses en su instituto culinario.
El experto español recibió un reconocimiento de manos del presidente de la Academia Dominicana de Gastronomía, Luis Ros.
Además, Anyarlene Bergés, vicepresidenta de Comunicaciones y Relaciones Institucionales de INICIA, entregó a Berasategui el libroSabores Ancestrales, compendio de recetas de la gastronomía dominicana editado por ese grupo empresarial.
Inés Páez, chef Tita, asesora de la Unidad de Diplomacia Gastronómica del Mirex, y quien, además, es pupila de Berasategui, expresó la trascendencia de tener en ese escenario a uno de los chefs más grandes de la gastronomía mundial, “que ha generado importantes cambios, inspirando con su amor por la cocina a todos los cocineros del mundo”.
En el evento, realizado en la sede de la Cancillería dominicana, participó el viceministro de Relaciones Exteriores para Asuntos Económicos y Cooperación Internacional, Hugo Rivera; y el embajador de Reino de España acreditado ante el Gobierno dominicano, Alejandro Abellán García,
Con ellos, personalidades del ámbito culinario, empresarios e invitados especiales.

Esto lo posiciona como uno de los tres cocineros con más estrellas a nivel mundial. También encabeza la clasificación en la Guía Repsol, con 9 Soles.
